When I first moved into my new apartment, I was in such a hurry to furnish the kitchen that I didn’t give much thought to being Green or buying eco-friendly products.  But did you know that you can buy eco-friendly cutting boards?  If you are someone who likes to cook, then you might find this interesting.

Now don’t get me wrong, I rarely use mine and I like to cook but I am guilty of buying a typical plastic one from my local Target store.  But had I known about the various types, I would of given it some more thought.

Recycled paper, flax, and cork are just some of the suggested materials that makeup eco-friendly cutting boards.  There are 5 types that are affordable, durable and pleasant to display.  Just in case your guests notice!

  1. Recycled Paper
  2. Recycled Plastic
  3. Reclaimed or Salvaged Wood
  4. Sustainable Wood
  5. Cork

You can read the full article and decide if one sounds like the more logical choice than the other.  Perhaps cutting on cork may worry you or maybe you’ll end up with a splinter from the salvaged wood ones.  Which one will you buy?
